Summer is on its Way

Now that the warm weather is finally arriving and summer is just around the corner, homeowners with swimming pools are anxiously awaiting all the enjoyment a pool brings. They can add countless memories and hours of enjoyment. By taking a few extra steps during your annual pool opening, you can be ready to enjoy your pool in no time.
One step that is often overlooked when opening a pool in the spring is to look at the area surrounding your pool. Clean the area of any debris that has the potential to end up in your pool from decks, patios & nearby gardens. You should also trim trees and shrubs that have grown and may now hang over your pool.
Before opening your pool, check your supplies. Make sure that all of your cleaning supplies have not expired over the off-season. If a chemical was not properly sealed during the winter, they should be disposed of as well.
Remember safety first. Inspect and repair any pool or deck furniture before it is used. You should also make sure all bolts are secured on any ladders, safety rails, slides or diving boards to make sure they are safe and ready to be enjoyed.
If you are looking at purchasing a home with a pool, you can have a pool inspection done, just as you can have a home inspection done. Professional pool companies will look at the pool in detail and give an overall report so you can purchase a home with peace of mind or know upfront of any issues that will need to be repaired.
