500 Trees Planted at Brant Hills Park!
May 13, 2019 | Posted by The Rocca Sisters & AssociatesIt was a rather grey and muddy morning this past Saturday, May 4th, but it was all smiles as members of the Rocca Sisters Team, as well as dozens of volunteers from around the community gathered at Brant Hills Park to plant 500 trees, an event made possible by Burlington Green. Team members handed out daisy seeds in post-consumer recycled packaging to those who came out as a small thank you for rolling up their sleeves and getting their hands dirty to help “green up” our community. Volunteers were also invited to enter a draw for a $150 gift card to The Keg.
“It was fantastic to see so many happy people out this morning in spite of the dreary weather”, says Cathy Rocca. “It really shows how passionate the public is about making our community a greener place. Our beach cleanup event was such a great success, but it is just as rewarding to do something proactive, like planting trees, that can be enjoyed by many generations to come!”
Rocca Sisters Team member Jamie was also on hand, letting people know about our Rocca Sisters Green Guide. “Lots of people I talked to were really excited about the great tips it offered”, Jamie enthused. “It’s great to see so much buzz around it!”
