Awaken Your Senses at the Garden Tour in Support of the Carpenter Hospice
June 27, 2014 | Posted by The Rocca Sisters & AssociatesAt the Rocca & Associates we’re proud to once again support the Burlington Garden Tour in Support of the Carpenter Hospice. The hospice, provides individuals who are dying, and their families, with a high quality palliative care in a home-like setting.
Proceeds raised through this event, are vital, as the hospice is dependent on the generosity of the community to help cover the annual operating cost of 1.3 million dollars.
What can garden lovers and the like expect at the event? Eleven beautiful gardens in the Aldershot area will be showcased this year – each garden depicting the homeowners’ individual style.
For us, giving back to the community is our desire, and passion, and we’ve used personal experience to move that passion and drive to a deeper level of giving. The Carpenter Hospice gives us a chance to support the community while remembering our mother.
In 2004, our mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and after fighting hard for five years she succumbed to the disease. The work that the Carpenter Hospice provides is invaluable to terminally ill patients and their families, providing much needed physical, emotional and mental support.
We cannot speak highly enough of the members of the Carpenter Hospice and the help they provide. As part of our Ovarian Cancer Initiative, “Creating Sanctuaries in Our Community”, we have been had the honour of visiting patients at the Carpenter Hospice to help make their journey more comfortable. To watch the video on our Ovarian Cancer Initiative, please visit our webTV channel, www.RoccaSistersTV.ca.
The Burlington Garden Tour will be taking place on Sunday, July 13 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. The cost for a ticket is $20 – less than $2 per garden. Tickets may be purchased at Holland Park Garden Gallery, Euro Style Flower Market and Cudmore Garden Centre.
We’re excited to once again see our neighbours get together to support this very important community cause. Come out and be inspired by the stunning gardens while helping support a worthy cause!
