As Father’s Day is fast approaching this weekend on June 15, Canadians will have the opportunity to celebrate and appreciate their fathers, fatherhood and more on the special day.
For us, celebrating our father, Pat Rocca, is about recognizing his deep commitment to our family. He inspired us to succeed in the real estate industry and at anything we put our minds to.
At 15-years-old, our father left Italy and landed in Canada. He embraced the opportunity this free life gave him and started in the development side of business which launched our family into real estate in the early 1950’s. To this day there is a lasting imprint on Atlantic Maritime provinces as a result of our father’s vision and determination.
Our family has enjoyed over a quarter of a century growth in construction and real estate development. This has instilled in us the value of hard work and the importance of a hands-on business approach. We are thankful for the opportunity our father has given us not only in business but also in family life. He placed a big emphasis on the importance of quality time spent with loved ones.
This Father’s Day is also very special for us, as Cathy’s husband, and invaluable Rocca Sisters & Associates team member, Peter Anelli-Rocca, will be celebrating the day for the first time as a new dad. We were overjoyed to welcome the newest edition to the Rocca Sisters family, baby Gianluca, who was born on Nov. 2, 2013. We’re proud to say Peter has been a natural at caring for his son and we can’t wait to see how Peter’s outstanding qualities will influence Gianluca as he grows up.
This Father’s Day weekend, we hope that you will reflect on what makes your father special. To celebrate in the community, we recommend going to one of our favourite events, Canada’s largest free music festival, the Sound of Music Festival happening June 7, 12-15 at Spencer Smith Park in Burlington.
