Five Spots in Burlington Your Dog is Sure to Dig!
July 8, 2019 | Posted by The Rocca Sisters & AssociatesHere at the Rocca Sisters Team, most of us are animal lovers who consider our four-legged (and in some cases three-legged!) furry friends important members of our families. Now that the summer weather is finally here, we want our pups to be able to enjoy the outdoors in our community. We’ve compiled a list of off-leash dog parks and other dog friendly spots in Burlington that your dog is sure to dig!
1. Bayview Park, 1800 King Road
Located in Aldershot, and offering exceptional views of Burlington and Burlington Bridge, Bayview Park, often known as W.A.G. (Where Animals Gather) Park, features a leash free area, model airplane clubhouse with an airstrip and a baseball diamond making it a fun excursion for the entire family.
2. Roly Bird Park – 2203 Industrial Street
This is a smaller park and offers a nice community feel. After bringing your furry buddy just a couple of times, you’ll get to know the crowd of regulars well! The park also offers plenty of shade and a playground for kids. Named after Burlington’s longest serving Mayor, this is one of our favourite dog parks in the city!
3. Norton Park – 4275 Dundas Street
One of the larger parks in the city, Norton Park is located in Alton Village and offers two secure areas – one for larger dogs, and one for smaller and shyer dogs. With lots of space and wood chips, your pup can happily run around without getting too muddy after the plenty of rainy days we’ve been having lately. Keep in mind, though, that it does not have too much shade and can get quite hot on sunny days.
4. Queen’s Head Pub and Bar – 400 Brant Street
After a long day of playing fetch and chasing squirrels, you and your furry pal might be in the mood to enjoy a relaxing pint on a lovely patio. The Queen’s Head Pub is one of the only dog-friendly restaurants in Burlington, and they’ll treat your pup like an esteemed guest with a cool bowl of water!
5. Furry Friends Inc Doggie Daycare – 955 Century Drive
As much as we would love to, we can’t always take our dogs everywhere we go. When you’re thinking about a reputable and fun-filled spot to leave Fido, look no further than Furry Friends Inc. Doggie Daycare in Pinedale! As the oldest and most highly-rated doggie daycare and “spaw” in Burlington, their talented staff encourage safe play and socialization and are skilled in separating dogs into groups by size and temperament. After a day of playing with new friends, your dog may be in no hurry to come home!
