Save the Date – Burlington Kite Festival
May 28, 2019 | Posted by The Rocca Sisters & AssociatesKites have long been a favourite past time for generations both young and old. Originally from China, they were made of silk and bamboo. In the past their aerodynamic surface and ability to overcome gravity made them a resourceful tool during rescue missions, military efforts and science discoveries! Today kites can be constructed in different shapes and printed in beautiful designs. They are used for festivals, traditional ceremonies and recreational fun.
We invite you to join us for Burlington’s annual Kite Festival on Sunday, June 2, 2019, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Brant Hills Park/Brant Hills Community Centre. Build a kite or bring your own to help fill the sky with colour and celebrate diversity. Join us for some free family fun, entertainment and vendors. Kite building materials are available while supplies last.
Events like these are The Rocca Sisters Team way of saying thank you to the community for all of the support you have shown us. This year, we will be pairing with Burlington Green in an effort to minimize our waste and maximize the fun!
Children are encouraged to bring their creativity as they will have the opportunity to design a free kite of their own through building and decorating (while supplies last). Attendees can also take part in fantastic community displays. Little ones will enjoy face painting and there will be tasty treats to try as you walk through the festival.
Make sure to stop by the Rocca Sisters tent where you can visit with our Team and have a chance to enter our contest and get some fun freebies along the way!
Don’t miss this great opportunity to get the family together and be out in the community. For more information on this and our other upcoming summer events, visit our website www.RoccaSisters.ca. We’ll see you there!
