Rocca Sisters & Associates proud to support GivingTuesday on December 2, 2014
November 28, 2014 | Posted by The Rocca Sisters & AssociatesThe Rocca Sisters & Associates are proud to have joined a local movement to encourage giving back to our community – GivingTuesday. GivingTuesday is a new Canadian movement for giving and volunteering, taking place each year after Cyber Monday. The ‘opening day of the giving season,” it is a day where charities, companies and individuals join together to share commitments, rally for favourite causes and think about others. This year, GivingTuesday takes place on December 2. Along with thousands of other organizations and businesses, we are taking to our social media platforms to encourage members of our community to give back.
By supporting local charities and non-profit organizations, you are investing in your community and helping those in need. One of the many perks of working in Real Estate is that we get to know the families and business owners that live and work in our region very well. For us, it’s not just about buying and selling homes; it’s about truly becoming a part of a community and building long-lasting relationships.
If you are looking for local non-profit and charitable groups to support, visit www.collectivehearts.ca. Collective Hearts Burlington is an awareness campaign, initiated by a group of 10 charitable organizations in our community, to engage Burlington in a public way to acknowledge and emphasize the importance of not only giving back but the impact of the community’s generosity of time and talent.
The member organizations that comprise Collective Hearts are encouraging the community to support local charitable organizations by volunteering, making a donation and sharing their stories of giving on the Collective Hearts Burlington website.
The Collective Hearts Burlington founding organizations are: Art Gallery of Burlington; Burlington Community Foundation; Burlington Performing Arts Centre; Carpenter Hospice; Community Living Burlington; Halton Women’s Place; Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation; United Way of Burlington & Greater Hamilton; Royal Botanical Gardens; and the YMCA of Hamilton, Burlington, Brantford. They also act as ambassadors for other charitable groups.
We believe that along with success comes an even greater responsibility to give back. We are proud of the many Community Giveback Events we hold each year that support various causes near and dear to our hearts, as well as those of our clients. These events are our way of expressing our sincere appreciation to the members of our community for all the support they have shown us and to celebrate the amazing working they do to make our community an even better place to live, work and play.
Some of the organization we have been proud to support in recent years include the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation, McMaster Children’s Hospital, Juravinski Cancer Centre, Carpenter Hospice, Muscular Dystrophy Canada, Museums of Burlington, Scooby Soccer, Hamilton Dream Centre and local food banks, to name a few.
Mayor Rick Goldring has proclaimed Burlington to be “The Giving City” on December 2. We hope that you will think of our community on GivingTuesday and give generously.
